SEVERAL tradesmen drove off early from a construction site after a parking inspector began to book workers for parking on the side of the road.

Aura estate tradesman Luke Muller was working on site at Caloundra on Monday and said about 10am a Sunshine Coast Council parking inspector showed up. "I was just parked up on the grass a tiny bit," Mr Kearns said.

"One wheel was on the rocks and one was on the grass." He said other tradesmen had been warned by a parking inspector on Tuesday of impending enforcement but he knew nothing of it until he saw the ticket on his ute. I do a lot of work in this area and not once have I seen this mob (parking inspectors) driving around." He said the thin streets made it difficult to park without blocking other vehicles.

"It is like Sydney, so narrow and there is just nowhere to get through." He said tradespeople needed to be shown leniency while so much construction was still ongoing.
